Achieving Goals Through Solar Energy

NEM PAGE 001

WHAT IS N.E.M.?

N.E.M. stands for Net Energy Metering, and will be a new solar energy scheme (after F.i.T.) by the Energy Commission of Malaysia to meet the renewable energy target by 2020.

Approved applicants for the scheme are able to sell off a portion of the electricity generated from a solar PV system back to your energy provider (e.g. TNB, SESB)

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Primarily, this scheme sets new highs to help the nation achieve its target for Renewable Energy by 2020. Advocating a cleaner and greener environment to create a better living for everyone.

Residentials, businesses and especially the industrial sector benefits greatly from this scheme as it would mean lower electricity bills and operation costs.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

An application process is required for N.E.M and once approved by the relevant authorities (based on first-come-first-served basis and criterias). A solar PV system is then constructed and commissioned on your premise to generate solar energy.

This process is done through a licensed solar PV system provider.

The energy generated from the solar PV system is firstly utilized by the consumer/building /structure and any “extra” solar energy thereafter is then sold to your energy provider.
